Mark Ovenden and Mike Henriksen bring years of experience and knowledge to their jobs as co-hosts of “Calling All Sports”. The  show airs on AM-800, KQAD Monday through Friday afternoons at 5pm

Mark is an East Coast native who grew up next door to the legendary Curt Gowdy. He spent the majority of his youth playing, and providing play by play for, the games he would organize for the kids in his neighborhood. He attended University of Richmond, and came to South Dakota in 1978. He has done radio and television play by play, and currently serves as Sports Director at KDLT-TV in Sioux Falls.

Mike is a Nebraska native who used to fall asleep listening to radio play by play from games across the country. Mike came to South Dakota in 1978 to attend Augustana College. He has worked at various radio stations across the state in various capacities, but sports has always been his first love. He is the host of the weekly sports interview show “Sportsmax”, and has done play by play for State Championships for South Dakota Public Broadcasting for the last 10 years.

Between the two of them, Mark and Mike know almost every coach, athlete, broadcaster, and administrator involved in sports across the state. They have also developed some great national contacts that will be guests on the show as well. Mark and Mike have been friends for years, and have a great chemistry! They are very happy that this show has finally come about, and they can’t wait to see where it leads and how it continues to grow!
