New laws now in effect in Minnesota

(St. Paul, MN) — A number of new laws are now in effect in Minnesota, as of July 1. They include free school breakfasts and lunches for all K through 12 children; and free tuition and fees after scholarships and grants for all students whose family incomes are less than 80-thousand-dollars. Minnesota now bans noncompete clauses in work contracts, and gives new price protections on prescription drugs. Part of Minnesota’s new marijuana law is now in effect, but the broader marijuana possession law, legalizing possession of pot, goes into effect next month, on August 1
