Ribbon Cutting For Newly Refurbished Aquatic Center in Luverne

After shutting down in April of 2021 and cleaning out the pool in August of 2021, the Luverne Aquatic Fitness Center may look a little different than the last time you saw it. About a year of construction later, the Aquatic Center got a few more additions than just a makeover.

Sam Honerman, one of the staff, was proud to show off to the many visitors that came for the tour of the new facility. “We’re now 24/7. Aerobics and Fitness Rooms are available to those with memberships even after business hours. We added 10,000 square feet, with brand new equipment, new multi-purpose room for classes with the addition of 6 new instructors, and a new outdoor “Splash Pad” that will hopefully be open by Memorial Day, May 30th.

“When you come into the building you will notice the flooring there are blue arches throughout the whole building. Wherever you see a blue arch is a point of interest. It’s a lounge, locker room, or doorway to our many fitness rooms and services.” Honerman said.

The renovation was completed a little ahead of schedule as May 20th was the intended completed construction date. With the speedy process, it allowed the Aquatic Center to open its doors sooner than expected.
